THE EDUCATION PROCESS

and what to bring to MVD

Classroom Training

Through lecture, videos, guest speakers and team activities the 30 hours of classroom training will thoroughly explain the fundamentals of operating a motor vehicle. Students will learn and become familiar with street signals and signs. Students will also be taught how to prevent a crash, what to do in emergency situations, how to drive in adverse weather conditions, how to check vehicle maintenance and much more.

Most importantly, students will be well trained on how to be defensive drivers on the road.Classroom training will also include over 6 hours of state required DWI prevention and education and other impairments such as drugs and distractions such as cell phone use. We will also include information on organ donation and the Jonathan Spradling Revised Uniform Anatomical Gifts Act.

Behind-The-Wheel Training

Behind-the-wheel training will begin once the student has received their Learner’s Permit. This training includes 7 hours of private driving with one of our certified instructors. Students will practice and gain experience in residential driving, low traffic, heavy traffic, and interstate driving, turning, backing up, parking, understanding and reading street signs and traffic signals, and much more. Our goal is to prepare each student as much as we can so they will feel confident and knowledgeable on the road.
